Who we are

CygnusAir is an airline operator with extensive experience in the aviation sector, being one of the first Spanish cargo airlines. The main characteristic that makes the company develop its business is the possession of its AOC, Air Operator Certificate, issued by AESA (Spanish Aviation Safety Agency). In addition to this operational license, it has other important licenses, such as FAR part 129, which allows it to operate to and from the USA.

Its main activity is the operation of its cargo aircraft through its leasing contracts, such as Wet Lease, or through charter flights, which are subject to the demand for cargo transportation. All these operations are carried out under maximum safety conditions and high quality standards.

CygnusAir was originally incorporated in 1994 under the name Regional Airlines. Becoming the first Spanish company dedicated to regional aviation. Today, CygnusAir is part of the Swiftair Group and is a company dedicated exclusively to operating scheduled cargo flights and on-demand flights for major air cargo companies.

Responsibility for AOC

Our Services

Thanks to the extensive experience of CygnusAir‘s staff, the company is able to offer different services within the aviation world. All of them meeting high quality parameters and always looking for the best solution for the customer.

Wet Lease

CygnusAir offers its customers the possibility to lease our aircraft. The most common lease is the ACMI. This type of lease includes aircraft, crew, maintenance and insurance. The entire operation of the aircraft is the responsibility of CygnusAir while the customer is in charge of marketing the flights of that aircraft.

With certificates such as AOC or FAR part 129, our aircraft can operate anywhere in the world, covering any connection line.

Ad-Hoc Flights

Taking into account the availability of our fleet, CygnusAir/Swiftair Group offers an on-demand cargo flight service to any part of the world, always studying the optimal route for the customer. These flights can be performed under ACMI conditions or under ‘full charter’ conditions.

Consulting

CygnusAir offers its customers the possibility to lease our aircraft. The most common lease is the ACMI. This type of lease includes aircraft, crew, maintenance and insurance.

With certificates such as AOC or FAR part 129, our aircraft can operate anywhere in the world, covering any connection line.

AOC Coverage

CygnusAir offers the possibility to operate any type of aircraft that meets the necessary safety requirements under our company’s AOC. In this way, it opens up the European flight market to established non-EU carriers, offering flexibility and low cost for the implementation of routes.

For companies that are in the process of creation, this aircraft flagging possibility offered by CygnusAir allows them to start operations in a short period of time, which can be used to process their own AOC. The company can use this operation under the CygnusAir AOC as a background when forming its airline and as a framework for gaining experience of its own personnel. CygnusAir facilitates at all times the departure of the client from our AOC as soon as he/she is able to perform the routes by him/herself, and some support services can be maintained at the client’s request.

If the company’s business is not the air operation but this is a necessary tool for its economic activity, the creation of an AOC could be saved through this service offered by CygnusAir, avoiding extra costs and complexities inherent to the air operation.

CMI

Wanting to generate greater agility and speed when entering the air transport sector for our customers, Cygnus Air offers the possibility of a CMI agreement through which Cygnus Air provides its customers with the crews (Crew), maintenance (Maintenance) and insurance (Insurance). With properly trained crews and solid and complete aircraft maintenance, Cygnus Air allows its customers not to worry about the management of these often costly areas.
